The Alaska Bear Foot Inn is located close to the Glenn Hwy. in Peters Creek, a short drive from the Matanuska Valley and Anchorage. The Inn is a beautiful cedar-sided home located on two acres. We're a short distance from the Glenn Highway, yet there is a feeling of privacy and peacefulness.
The inside of the Alaska Bear Foot Inn is paneled entirely with wood which gives a nice, warm, lodge feeling. The fireplace in the living room adds warmth as well as atmosphere.
The inn has two resident dogs who are generally confined to the private areas of the inn. If they happen to be outside when you arrive, they will probably greet you enthusiastically. Do not be alarmed, they don't bite and just want to be petted.
We will prepare a full breakfast for you to start your day, however it may be self-serve depending on what time you like to get going in the morning. Jeannie and Steve both have jobs in Anchorage during the week. Please let us know of any dietary restrictions or preferences. We have a small flock of chickens, so breakfast may include some of the freshest eggs you'll ever eat.
It is an Alaskan tradition to leave your shoes by the door when you come into a house - so remember to bring clean socks!
Our goal is to provide you with the kind of vacation you want to enjoy. If you want to visit all the tourist sites, we can help direct you or if you would rather relax and enjoy the long summer nights we want you to be comfortable.
Play a game of pool or electronic darts, watch TV, or just enjoy the view out the large windows. Below are a couple views of the scenery from our decks. Winter is a beautiful time of year in Alaska.
